Venue: West India Quay, Canary Wharf, London. E14 4AS
In order to operate a marine VHF-DSC radio, part of the Global Maritme Distress and Safety System (GMDSS) the new Short Range Certificate is a legal requirement. VHF - Digital Select Calling is a facility that automates many of the procedures traditionally carried out on channel 16. This one day course assumes no prior knowledge, and covers all the theory required combined with practical experience on our training radios.
All marine leisure users that are not required to operate a Marine VHF radio should consider the course as an important safety benefit as mobile phone signals can be unreliable.
Radios used: Icom M505, Icom M471, handheld Icom M71.
